# My Assistant features: every function of the AI chat assistant

## Can I use my own API key in My Assistant? {#own-key}

**Your own API key.** Yes. Paste a key from any of 10 AI providers in Settings → Your AI; the app recognises the provider, checks the key once and uses it for your chats.

- Providers: OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude), Google Gemini, DeepSeek, Mistral, xAI (Grok), Groq, OpenRouter, Moonshot (Kimi), SiliconFlow.
- The key is checked with a free "list models" call that uses no AI.
- Keys are stored encrypted (AES-256-GCM) and are ready on all your devices; Settings shows only the last 4 characters.
- Keep several keys and make one active; switch at any time from the top bar (🔑 / 🤖).
- A sensible model is picked from your provider's own list; change it in Settings at any time.
- DeepSeek, OpenRouter, Moonshot and SiliconFlow keys show their balance.
- A key is only ever sent to its own provider.

## Can I use My Assistant without an API key? {#credit}

**My Assistant credit.** Yes. Buy My Assistant credit and choose "My Assistant" in Settings → Your AI; it answers your chats from your balance.

- PayPal (web and Microsoft Store app): €5, €10, €15 or any amount from €5 to €200.
- Google Play app: €5, €10, €15, €25 or €50.
- Optional automatic top-up (PayPal) when the balance falls below €1.
- €5 covers about 3,700 everyday messages.
- Credit pays only for My Assistant replies, never for your own key.
- The balance is always visible, with a top-up button.

## What does the My Assistant subscription include? {#subscription}

**The €1.99 subscription.** Every feature with no message limits, for €1.99 a month, whichever AI answers (your own key or My Assistant credit).

- Paid with PayPal on the web and in the Microsoft Store app, with Google Play Billing in the Google Play app.
- Cancel in Settings → Cancel my subscription (or in Google Play for Play subscriptions); access runs to the end of the paid month.
- Every subscription, top-up and cancellation is confirmed by email.

## Can I try My Assistant for free? {#preview}

**Free preview.** Yes. A new account gets a few free starter chats of limited length, answered by My Assistant or by your own key.

- The exact number is not published.
- After the last starter chat, a subscription keeps chats going.
- A note near the end of the preview shows how to add a key and what the subscription brings.

## How does My Assistant reduce API costs? {#save-tokens}

**Chats that cost less.** It sends only the recent part of each chat, sends files once, and keeps the start of every request stable so providers can apply their cache discounts.

- A fixed context budget: long chats never resend their whole history.
- Attached files go with their own message only.
- Code and pages are resent only from the latest reply.
- A stable request prefix lets providers like OpenAI and DeepSeek give up to 90% off repeated input.
- A tip suggests a new chat when a long chat changes topic.
- Example: about 30 messages a day of text chat costs roughly $0.20 to $1.40 a month of API use with light models, plus €1.99.

## How do chats work in My Assistant? {#chats}

**Chats.** Start a new chat at any time, reopen earlier ones, pin favourites, and remove chats from your list.

- Titles are written by the AI after the 1st, 5th and 15th messages, then every 10 messages.
- Copy, edit or delete your messages; retry, save, report or delete replies.
- Deleted messages are hidden on all your devices and left out of the AI's context, but kept in your exported history.
- A chat removed from the list stays on your device.
- Quick prompts: four chips from your recent chats, or four starters in an empty chat.
- Long messages of your own fold after 12 lines (Show more).

## Does My Assistant show replies as they are written? {#live-writing}

**Live writing and Stop.** Yes. Replies appear word by word, and a Stop button replaces Send while a reply is being written.

- Stopping keeps what was written and your message.
- While the assistant prepares a reply, three pulsing dots show.

## How are replies laid out? {#rich-text}

**Clear replies and code.** Replies show headings, lists, tables, links and quotes; code comes in a dark, colour-coded panel with Copy and Download.

- Web pages written by the assistant have a Preview.
- Long code folds with Show all.
- Copy gives clean text that keeps its layout in mail and documents.
- Icons under messages stay faint; they show fully on the latest reply, on hover, or after a tap.

## Can I send files and photos to My Assistant? {#files}

**Files and photos.** Yes. Attach any file; text, code, data and web-page files up to 2 MB and images up to 5 MB are sent to the AI.

- No fixed size cap: files are kept with the chat on your device, limited only by its space.
- Other files are kept with the chat and sent by name only.
- Phone photos, HEIC included, are shrunk on the device and sent as images to vision-capable models.
- Pages and code the assistant writes come back as downloadable files.
- Drop files anywhere on the chat, or use Attach; remove one or all before sending.

## Which languages does My Assistant speak? {#languages}

**20 languages.** The app is in 20 languages, and replies follow the language you type in, switching at once.

- English, Spanish, Chinese, Hindi, Arabic, French, German, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Italian, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai, Turkish, Polish, Dutch, Ukrainian, Persian.
- Right-to-left layout for Arabic and Persian.
- The device language is chosen automatically; 🌐 switches it; emails follow the app language.
- ⇄ Reply language: set a fixed reply language, kept on the device.

## Can My Assistant give shorter answers? {#short-answers}

**Short answers (⚡).** Yes. Tap ⚡ for the shortest possible replies during this visit; double-tap to make it your account default.

- Example: "Is the Philippines hot all year round?" → "Yes".
- Double-tap again to go back to normal replies.

## Can My Assistant make a city guide? {#explore}

**Explore city guides (🧭).** Yes. Enter a city and country, choose "explore this city and its surroundings" or "meet local people", and get a personal guide.

- Guides are tailored to a woman or a man, from the assistant you chose.
- Saved guides are listed under "Exploration / Travel" or "Meeting Locals" and sync to your devices.
- During the preview, each guide counts as one starter-chat message.

## Can My Assistant remind me of something? {#reminders}

**Reminders (🔔).** Yes. Save "remind me later" notes; they pop up on time while the switch is on.

- Reminders live on your device and sync to your other devices.

## Does My Assistant follow up on what I told it? {#check-ins}

**Check-ins.** Yes. Mention an upcoming event and the assistant asks how it went, 1 to 14 days later, from 8:00, in the same chat.

- No extra AI use is needed for this.
- On by default; switch it in Settings → Check-ins.
- It asks when you open My Assistant, or while it is open.

## Can I keep useful replies? {#saved}

**Saved replies (🔖).** Yes. Save any reply; saved replies have their own page and sync to your devices.

## Does My Assistant have a period tracker? {#period}

**Period tracker (🌸).** Yes, on accounts with the female assistant: cycle calendar, predictions, ovulation and fertile-window estimates, and tips.

- Kept on your devices only (synced directly between them).
- Never shown on male accounts.

## What are the watch faces in My Assistant? {#watch}

**Watch faces (⌚).** On accounts with the male assistant: two full-screen faces, Wristwatch and Breathe, that keep the screen on.

- Breathe guides 4 seconds in through the nose and 7 seconds out through the mouth.

## What does the female or male assistant change? {#persona}

**Female or male assistant.** You choose once at sign-up; it sets the default colours, tailors Explore, and adds the period tracker (female) or the watch faces (male).

- The assistant has no personal name; asked who it is, it answers "I'm Your Assistant."

## Does My Assistant sync between my phone and computer? {#sync}

**Sync on 3 devices.** Yes. One account works on up to 3 devices, and they sync directly with each other, end-to-end encrypted.

- Sync runs when two devices are open at the same time; a third catches up from either one.
- Synced: chats, pins, titles, saved replies, reminders, check-ins, files, period tracker, Explore guides.
- Only fresh changes travel, and an older copy never overwrites newer data.
- The server only introduces your devices to each other; it stores none of this content.

## Is My Assistant private? {#privacy}

**Privacy.** Yes. No cookies, no trackers, no analytics pixels, no data sold or shared; conversations, files, reminders and period data stay on your devices.

- The server keeps account data only (email, first name, assistant choice, language, subscription status, device labels, encrypted keys, credit balance and similar records).
- Card and bank details never reach My Assistant; PayPal receives only an anonymous account code.
- Deleting the account is instant and permanent.
- Accounts with no subscription, credit or use for 24 months are deleted automatically.

## Can I install My Assistant as an app? {#install}

**Install as an app.** Yes. Open myassistant.aplusz.app, sign in and choose ⬇ Install to add it to your home screen or desktop with its own icon.

- It works in any modern browser on a computer, tablet or phone.
- Updates arrive by themselves, silently.

## Can I share a reply from My Assistant? {#share}

**Share a reply (↗).** Yes. Share any reply to another app as text and, where supported, as an image card.

- Each share carries "via My Assistant · myassistant.aplusz.app".

## Can My Assistant read replies aloud? {#read-aloud}

**Read aloud (▶) and dictation.** Yes, with your device's own natural voice where one exists for the reply's language; to speak instead of typing, use your phone keyboard's dictation key.

## Can I change how My Assistant looks? {#look}

**Themes, text size, Hide/Show.** Yes. Eight colour themes plus automatic light/dark, text size from 12 to 22 (A+ / A−), and Hide/Show for a wider chat.

- Themes: Light, Dark, Soft Pink, Sky Blue, Ocean, Book Reading, Mint, Midnight Violet.
- Hide removes the side icons, the top-bar icons and Attach; Show brings them back. Kept per device.
- Display currency (€, $, £, ¥ or ₱) from the top bar.

## Can I add my name and photo? {#photo}

**Your name and photo.** Yes. In Settings → Your name add a first name and a photo; the photo is shrunk on the device and shown on all your devices.

- The assistant uses your first name once a day and at the start of each new chat.

## Can I get free months from My Assistant? {#invite}

**Invite friends.** Yes. While your subscription runs, every friend who signs up with your invite link and makes a first payment gives you one free month, with no limit.

- Before you subscribe, each paying friend gives you 5 extra preview chats.
- Free months start after the paid month.

## Can I back up my chats? {#backup}

**Backup: export and import.** Yes. Settings → Export / Import saves your whole chat history to a file and brings it back.

- Settings also shows how much space My Assistant uses on the device.

## How do I report a bad AI reply? {#report}

**Report a reply (⚑).** Tap ⚑ Report under the reply, pick offensive, sexual, dangerous, wrong or other, and send; every report is reviewed.

- The reported reply is hidden; Show reply brings it back.

## Can I suggest a feature for My Assistant? {#feature-request}

**Suggest a feature (💡).** Yes. Use 💡 at the bottom of any page; every idea is read by the team that makes the app.

## Is My Assistant safe to use? {#safety}

**Safety.** It is for adults (18+) and lawful use; requests answered by My Assistant pass an automated safety check, and every reply is marked as AI-generated.

- Repeated flagged requests can pause My Assistant replies for up to 30 days; your own key keeps working.
- My Assistant may make mistakes: it assists, and your decisions stay yours.
